USAGE

• the compositions of thioglycolic acid esters and tin organic compounds are used to stabilize PVC, thioglycolates are used as additives regulating the molecular weight of the polymerization products of Acrylonitrile and methylmethacrylate;
• as an additive to fixing solutions in photography to prevent the release of silver on the walls of baths;
• when etched to reduce metal corrosion;
• for dissolution and removal of lignin from wood, due to the ability of Thioglycolic acid to break down polyphenolic materials such as tannins and lignin;
• in cosmetology, in combination with dyes, Thioglycolic acid is used for hair coloring, as a component of depilatory creams, etc.
